Here is a statement concerning our Band Trip Refunds:
 
At this time, Mr. Voltz has exhausted all efforts in getting a full refund.  The company is offering to refund $10,000.00, but they plan to keep $7,240.00.  Mr Voltz and I do not feel this is a sufficient refund, and at this point Mr. Voltz has passed all information and contact information over to me.  Thus, I am now trying to talk to the President of the travel company as  well as, the hotel manager and someone at Disney.  We are going to continue to work on this and have more information but please understand that I am working on it and Mr. Voltz made a great attempt in working with the travel company.

On May 19th our Concerto Finals were held at Wildwood United Methodist Church.  The Concerto Finalist were Chelsea Voltz, Alaina Anderson, Matt Chandler, Grace Gallo, Kaitlin Vaughn and Karyn Stern.  Our First place winner is Alaina Anderson, Second place is Grace Gallo and Third place went to  Matt Chandler.  CONGRATULATIONS!!!

On Wednesday, April 8, the Wind Ensemble earned a Sweepstakes honor at the UIL  Concert & Sight Reading competition!  Way to go Band!

At the April 6th Booster Meeting, elections were held.  The Executive Board Members for the 2009 - 2010 school year will be:

Congratulations to the MHS Percussion Ensemble.  They won 1st place in their class at the State Championships at the end of March!
 
The MHS Winter Guard placed 7th in their highly competitive class at State Championships.

Message from the Principal
 
Parents,
 
First let me apologize for my poor response time on my part to your concerns regarding the Pre-UIL Band Concert on Tuesday night.  I so appreciate your active involvement with your children, and applaud your support of the band program.
 
As far as the events that took place on Tuesday evening, the administration has investigated the events. Although I cannot communicate our findings, I can tell you that Mr. Voltz will serve as the "interim" band director for the remainder of the year.
  
It is my hope that parents, band members and directors will continue to work together towards the goal of Sweepstakes.

Other Band Booster Information
We have added the option of making trip payments online using a credit card.  Click on "Make Payments" for more information.    The next payment for the Band's trip to Disney World is due by Feb. 15.
 
2008 Mandatory Band & Color Guard Marching Fees can now be paid on-line with a credit card and a secure PayPal account.  For more information, click on "Make Payments" to the left.  The Marching Fees are due by September 1, 2008.

Our event-id is 2947.  Photos from the Sam Houston Marching contest should be available soon on the same website.
 
The Band had both group and individual pictures taken on Friday, August 8 during practice.  The Guard had a group picture made.  Photos will be available this week to order.  Click on "Calendar of Events" at the left for more information.
